Happy First Friday of February!

We’ve been spending this Friday just relaxing at home and watching movies since it’s raining here in Sacramento. It’s been 6 weeks since I’ve had baby Tyler and let me tell you…the transition to becoming a mom of two has been really hard! I love my kids and am so happy to have both of them in my life, but I’ve been super exhausted from the breastfeeding and lack of sleep every night. Having enough energy to keep up with my newborn and toddler is important to me. Savannah and I love eating breakfast together and she is such a big help! Even though she is just 2.5, she tries to change her brother’s diapers and helps me fold the endless piles of laundry. :)

Usually we sit down to eat breakfast together, but if we have a busy day full of appointments or errands to run then I’ll whip up a breakfast smoothie. I’ve been buying Silk non-dairy milk for years now since I don’t drink cows milk. On our grocery run to Walmart, I saw this Silk Oat Yeah Oat Milk and had to give it a try! We love the soy milk and coconut milk versions so I’m really excited about the oat milk. It comes in three different types of flavors: Chocolate, Vanilla and Original. The other flavors were sold out so I got the Vanilla flavor.

I’m excited to share with you all my favorite smoothie recipe…you can definitely tweak it to your liking or substitute other flavors of Silk Milk and use whatever fruits that are in season. Here’s a quick and easy recipe that I use for my Berry Oatmeal Breakfast Smoothie:

  • 1 cup Silk Oat Yeah Oat Milk

  • 1 cup mixed berries (frozen)

  • 1/2 cup rolled oats

  • 1 scoop of peanut butter

  • 1/2 tsp of agave or honey (to taste)

This recipe is so nutritious and perfect for moms on-the-go! It’s packed with lots of protein and is a great pick me up! I’m so happy that we found another plant-based alternative milk that tastes so good!! Silk Oat Yeah is going to be my new favorite go-to for quick and easy snacking. I’m also adding it to my coffee every morning and really excited to cook and bake with it! If you love dairy-free and nut-free options, be sure to look for Silk Milk at your local Walmart. It’s so convenient for me and I know Walmart has the best value. Also, don’t forget to check the Ibotta app for offers on Silk Milk…I know you all will love it as much as I do! :)

Hailey
