LEOPARD + VELVET

So I know black may seem like such a basic color, but it's really my go-to color since it's easy to style and hides my belly (I love food too much!). I gained 20 lbs after having Savannah and it's really been a struggle finding clothes that flatter my post-pregnancy body. I'm still loving the velvet trend so I decided to pair this black velvet dress from Free People with a leopard moto jacket to give it that extra edge! If you know me personally, then it's no surprise that I'm obsessed with ANYTHING animal printed. Trust me, I'll be sharing a lot of my favorite #ootd and you'll see what I mean by that. 

Every season, I like to find a few pieces that I can style in different ways. I actually got this lacey velvet dress last year for only $25 from Nordstrom Rack. (Confession: I'm addicted to Nordstrom Rack!! I literally have no self control and spend $200 every time they have a sale. Ugh!) I'll be showing you guys all the deals I find because I never pay retail. Just keep checking my Instastories and I'll try and share the steals I find. My moto jacket is from Windsor and I just love the big leopard spots!! I'm keeping it casual with my Rag and Bone boots, but you can definitely dress it up with some killer heels and a clutch! I'm a busy mom so I don't wear purses as much unless it's a diaper bag or crossbody. 

Oh, and you can't forget the accessories and makeup! My necklace is by Ettika and I've been buying their jewelry since I discovered them in LA years ago. I'm a sucker for black and gold jewerly...I prefer gold over silver any day! As for my #motd, I tend to keep it minimal since I don't wear eyeshadow or foundation...just lipstick, lashes, and highlighter! I'm probably the worst fashion blogger ever since I bought these items last year...lol. You can't go wrong with leopard + velvet...it's a timeless combo.
